After 22 months of meticulous construction by PJOE site team, on November 9, 2020, the two largest olefins furnace modules in the world, weighing 7,793 tons and 7,629 tons, are modularly designed and constructed so far, achieving zero accidents and zero punch-list were delivered and departed 21 days in advance, providing strong support for the scheduled assembly of the core modules of USA’s GCGV olefin chemical plant.

In 2018, Exxon Mobil and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation joined forces to form GCGV Asset Holdings Co., Ltd., and plan to design and construct a chemical plant with an annual output of 1.8 million tons of olefins in Texas, USA in the emerging way of modular construction. PJOE, which enjoys mature construction experience and excellent performance in the field of modular construction, signed a cooperation agreement with the contractor CKJV in May 2018 to undertake the construction of a total of 40 modules for the olefins furnace module package and the olefins separation and processing package. On February 26, 2019, the module construction work on PJOE site started smoothly.

The olefins furnace module is the core device of the whole project. Its scale and complexity are one of the few in the industry. Modular design and construction are full of challenges. For PJOE, it is the first time to construct 4 such heavyweight olefins furnace modules. The construction scale, complexity, and tight schedule all refreshed the company's construction performance history. Thousands of people have worked hard for more than 600 days with the goal of project on time delivery. Finally, the two most difficult to build modules of the entire project have ushered in an important moment for shipment.

On November 4th and 5th, the shipment team overcame the delays caused by windy weather in the previous two days, and well organized the shipment operations, transported two modules to the semi-submerged ship within two days. The Production Department arranged manpower for 24 hours onboard welding operations, ensuring the realization of the important milestone of the smooth departure of the module on November 9, 2020.
